Mr David McKee (Chairman)
David was born in Northern Ireland where he lived before going to University in Dundee gaining an MA (Hons) in Geography.
In 1966 he became a Wolf Cub and building on this volunteer experience as youth member and volunteer leader, he found a place on the professional staff of The Scouts in London for 15 years. He became Regional Director for Europe for WOSM based in Geneva for 15 years and on retirement from that position, volunteered in Kuala Lumpur for some months before returning to the UK in May 2020. He was awarded the Silver Wolf by The Scouts in March 2017 for his service to the Association as Regional Director.
He is a passionate advocate of youth empowerment and worked to maximise representation and participation of all aspects of society in Scouting. Under David’s leadership, Europe implemented a system of support for National Scout Organisations called “tailored support” which was a forerunner for the much lauded WOSM Services which are revolutionising support to our member organisations.
